Tour De Zones 150-mile charity cycling challenge

The team consists of Zones employees, IT partners – and a handful of customers – who are cycling for Zones’ chosen charity, Wigs For Heroes.

The starting pistol will be fired on Saturday 10th June outside the Zones building in the City of London, with a 90-mile ride to Harwich, then an overnight ferry crossing before the second leg takes the team another 60 miles into the heart of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and across the finish line on June 11th.

Alex Kaye, President and Managing Director Zones EMEA, is one of the cyclists taking part and he is looking forward to the challenge. “Our Tour De Zones team have been putting in plenty of practice – and we can’t wait to get pedalling. We’re thrilled to be launching our new office in The Netherlands – and the Tour De Zones is a fantastic way to celebrate our further expansion into Europe while raising funds for the vital work that Wigs For Heroes does.

Kaye added, “It’s always been part of our Zones culture to help our employees live their best lives, and the Tour De Zones is another example of how we work, play – and pedal – hard!”

The Tour De Zones Team

Cyclists from Zones UK and Zones Netherlands will be taking part and have created a Just Giving Tour De Zones team page for donations. The team are currently over halfway to their target and has received 102 donations to date.

Matt Foncette, Operations at Zones UK, has personal reasons for taking part in the challenge: “The moment our team suggested a bike ride that also raised money for charity I knew I would be in hook line and sinker. Cancer has affected my family deeply, I lost my dad to breast cancer and my wife had to fight through it twice and went on to set up the Wigs For Heroes charity which directly supports people affected by cancer every day.

“Getting out with the Zones Family as well as our partners and customers proves that whatever we set our mind to can be achieved if we work together.”

IT Partner Support

Tour De Zones is supported by IT partners, Samsung, EPOS, Google Cloud and TD Synnex. Rob Charlesworth and Louise Wright, of TD Synnex are joining the event, with Louise saying: “I am usually more of a Harley horsepower enthusiast, but I’m switching to pedal power to support this great cause.”
